1822 Madison "Matt" Lee Coonrod is born in Wayne Co. Il.
1835 Federal land sale purchase of 40 acres is recorded for
Madison.
Madison tries farming his 80 acre farm for a few years.
1847 Greenfield Argus: Madison L Coonrod, and 3d Lieutenant
Jefferson Coonrod
were on the original muster roll of the Greenfield
Independent Calvary,
Mormon War and called out durring the trouble at Fort
Massac and disbanded
in 1847.
1850 Madison is living with his parents and listed as a
carpenter in the
1950 census.
1851 Madison L. and Margaret Emmiline McDow get married.
1851 Madison buys two plots in town and he and his brother
open a general
store that sells clothes, footwear, sewing supplys and
notions.
1860 Census shows that children are: William(6), Selina(4),
Ellis A(2),
Herbert(Listed as Hubert age 1yr. Census lists Madison
L. as
a merchant age 38 and Margaret as age 34. The census
lists Madisons
holdings as: 1200 (Real) 1500 (Pers).
1866 Madison Lee Coonrod dies(Nov 7,1866) and is buried in
Oakwood Cemetery.
1876 Margaret E Coonrod dies at her son Ellis's home.
